Mathematics Typesetter (LaTeX)

Where and how you can work
This is a remote, casual role with flexible hours. You’ll typically work around 10 hours per week during school term, with opportunities for extra projects during the holidays. Work is completed from home, with weekly deadlines to keep projects moving.

About Cherrybrook Maths Coaching
CMC is a fast-growing tutoring centre with a premium brand in Sydney’s Hills District. With over 300 students enrolled, we’re building a library of high-quality, exam-style resources that reflect our teaching philosophy. Behind the scenes, our typesetters play a critical role in ensuring these resources are accurate, professional, and ready for use with students.

About the Role
As a Mathematics Typesetter, you’ll be responsible for formatting exam papers, worksheets, and booklets into LaTeX. Accuracy and attention to detail are essential, as you’ll be checking every question, diagram, and solution before submission. This role is ideal for mathematically minded high school or university students who want flexible paid work while developing valuable technical skills.

What you’ll do

  • Typeset mathematics exam papers and resources into LaTeX.
  • Complete tasks flexibly during the week, with all work due Monday 9am.
  • Check and correct accuracy of questions, diagrams, and formatting before submission.
  • Revise and correct any errors before final approval.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Curriculum and Director to meet quality standards.

What we’re looking for

  • Strong maths ability and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to learn LaTeX (prior knowledge is helpful but not required — training provided).
  • Reliability and ability to meet deadlines without supervision.
  • A self-starter who takes pride in producing error-free work.
  • Suited for mathematically capable high school or university students looking for flexible paid work.

What’s in it for you?

  • Competitive pay based on speed, accuracy, and experience level.
  • Flexible, work-from-home role that fits around study or other commitments.
  • Opportunity to learn and develop LaTeX skills — highly valued at university and beyond.
  • Be part of a fast-growing education company shaping resources that reach hundreds of students.
  • Clear progression opportunities: from entry-level typesetter, to skilled independent typesetter, and potentially into curriculum development support roles as your experience grows.
  • A chance to contribute meaningfully behind the scenes to the success of our teaching program.
